Dearest,
I’ve started late to write you, it’s almost 9:00, but I didn’t get your letter until late. I had to go out to our former boarding place to get it. I’m glad I went. It was just what I needed and I’m mean just that.
Sweetheart, you helped me make a decision that I knew was best for me but just couldn’t bring myself to decide. That will be plenty for us to talk about. Time won’t drag, I’m sure of that.
Thanks, honey, for the help. I knew I could depend on you to get me right. I think you have a more practical mind than I have. That may be an asset sometime, don’t you think?
Chelis Hammonds is across the table from me telling big tales so that I can hardly write. I’ll be putting one in here directly if he doesn’t stop.
Why I asked you to help me…I wasn’t deciding for myself alone, you know that. I can make more money here than I can at home, I know. I’m making nearly twice as much here. I just didn’t want to stay away from you. Now that we have things straight, I think I’ll be all right.
I’m coming home Saturday night if I can possibly get off and we’ll talk things over then. I’ve got a lot to say that I can’t say now. So there.
I’m not going to write much tonight because I may be home before the letter is. I just wanted to write anyway, just in case.
So it’s good night darling and I’ll be seeing you real soon, I hope.
I love you,
Earl.
Here’s your good-night kiss.
